Deadline: Complete application packages are due to institutional representatives by no later than September 1st for those seeking initial enrollment during the Fall term, and no later than January 15th for those seeking initial enrollment during the Spring term. However, it is recommended that the initial scholarship application and transcript be submitted by June 1st when establishing eligibility for the Fall term and November 1st for the Spring term so that the financial aid office can begin to work with eligible students to package a scholarship award in a more timely manner.
Hatterscheidt Foundation Scholarship Open to incoming college freshmen with 3.0 or higher GPA and a financial need.

Jump Start Scholarship Open to students who attend a SD high school for at least two semesters, graduate in three years or less, and attend a participating South Dakota post-secondary school.

Annis Irene Fowler/Kaden Scholarship Open to first-time entering freshman at BHSU, DSU, NSU or USD and who will select elementary education as their major field. Special consideration given to students with demonstrated motivational ability, a disability, or who are self-supporting.

Dakota Corps Scholarship Open to students with at least a 2.8 GPA and an ACT score of 24 who plan to work in a critical needs area in SD: Teacher - High School Math, Science, or Career and Technical Education, Teacher - Elementary or Secondary Special Education, Accountant / Auditor, Engineer (includes all fields EXCEPT mining), Information Technology, Registered Nurse.

Build Dakota Scholarship Open to students entering high-need workforce programs at South Dakota's technical institutes who will commit to living and working in SD, in their fields of study, for three years following graduation. These areas include agriculture, automotive, building trades/construction, energy tech, engineering tech, and healthcare.

South Dakota Critical Teaching Needs Scholarship Open to students who are undergraduates in their final two years of post-secondary education and who have been admitted into an elementary or post-secondary education program preparing you to work in a critical needs teaching area at a participating SD college or university. Students must have and maintain at least a 2.8 GPA and agree in writing to teach in a critical needs area in South Dakota for at least 5 years after graduation.

National Farmworker Jobs Program Open to students who have done farm work for someone other than their immediate family in the past two years and who are in their final two years of college, such as a 2-year tech program or junior/ senior year of a 4-year college. Children of parents who have done farm work for others may be eligible, too.
